There’s so much we love about working with the National Library of Scotland – and our latest content marketing project with the team really stole our hearts. We were asked to help share stories celebrating the successes and legacies of libraries across Scotland, as part of the nationwide Love Libraries campaign.
Love Libraries
The campaign, which launched on Valentine’s Day, is being run as part of the National Library’s centenary celebrations and being delivered with a number of partner organisations.
Love Libraries aims to reinforce the value of libraries and library staff, engender public appreciation, encourage greater use of libraries, promote fun and wellbeing, and raise awareness of the variety of services offered by libraries.
Books are only the beginning in libraries, and our team was tasked with helping to tell that story. We contacted libraries the length and breadth of Scotland, from Shetland and the Western Isles to the Borders, rural areas and cities, to learn more about their work and the benefits of being a library member. All the case studies are available on the CILIPS website and more will be added throughout the campaign.
We have been involved with the campaign from the initial planning and development stages, working with all partner agencies to exchange ideas and support the development of key messaging and campaign assets that have been delivered to libraries across the country. This has included a key campaign toolkit, a media release, ideas for campaign activities and social media posts. The toolkit outlines the key messages and objectives of the campaign, the content and assets for use.

People can get involved with the campaign by sharing stories and photos on social media about how much their local library means to them and how libraries have had a positive impact on their lives. Libraries have been promoting the campaign and planning special events to celebrate, so make sure you take a visit to your local library so you don’t miss out!
